Summer School Back in Session

Our next Contemplative Summer School is this Sunday, July 22 at 6:00 PM! The suggested book for this session is Word into Silence by John Main. Come explore how a contemplative orientation inspires and encourages us to live more fully from a posture of self-emptying and divine love. We’ll also explore a brief video reflection by Fr. Laurence Freeman, OSB, on Christian meditation.

Summer Book Swap

Have you been looking for a great Summer read? Books donated this past week by parishioners will be available in the parish hall on Sundays, July 22 and July 29. All are welcome to browse and choose treasures to take home! Books left after July 29 will be donated to Our Neighbor’s The Next Chapter Bookstore.

Picnic & Play at Vogel

This Sunday, July 22, is the deadline to let Jeremy Landers know if you are coming to the 12th annual Day in the Mountains and Picnic Lunch at Vogel State Park on Saturday, July 28. This family friendly event is organized by the hike group at the end of each summer for ALL members of Grace and their friends to enjoy. Details can be found at our website. Hope to see you at Vogel!

School Supply Collection

The Outreach Committee is continuing their annual school supply drive. This year’s recipient will be Flowery Branch Elementary School.  A red wagon to collect the supplies is located in the greeting area and they can also be brought to the parish office. (Please do not drop donations off in the preschool office.) Cash or checks will also be accepted. Make checks out to Grace Episcopal Church with “school supplies” noted in the memo line. All donations are requested by Wednesday, August 1!
