Summer Book Swap

Have you been looking for a great Summer read? Have you been looking for a way to clean out great books that are piling up beside your bed? Come share in a Summer Book Swap. This is a fun opportunity to share with one another-and with the larger community-as we continue to encourage reading and learning-and sharing-at Grace.

You are invited to bring books you wish to swap to the parish office Monday, July 16 through Thursday, July 19 from 9:00 AM-5:00 PM. We will ask you to load them in the provided cart and take them down to be sorted in the Parish Hall. We will set up broad categories such as: fiction, non-fiction, religious studies, youth, children, etc. Perhaps we will even have a “romance” section for those headed to the beach later. Ha!

Books will be available in the parish hall on Sunday, July 22 and Sunday, July 29 before and between the services for those who want to browse and choose their treasures.

Any books left over after July 29 will be donated to Our Neighbor’s The Next Chapter bookstore behind Sweet Magnolia’s on the Square as a community partnership.

Come share! If this goes well, perhaps this can be an annual Summer Book Swap!

School Supply Collection

The Outreach Committee has begun their annual school supply drive. Supplies requested are: #2 pencils with erasers, spiral notebooks, glue sticks, blunt tip metal scissors, 16 or 24 ct. Crayola crayons, washable markers, wide rule filler paper, pocket folders with brads, Crayola colored pencils, cap erasers, highlighters, pencil boxes, zip lock bags (sandwich, quart or gallon), hand sanitizer, disinfectant wipes, index cards and boxes of facial tissue.

A red wagon to collect the supplies is located in the greeting area and supplies can also be brought to the parish office. (Please do not drop donations off in the preschool office.) Cash or checks will also be accepted. Make checks out to Grace Episcopal Church with “school supplies” noted in the memo line. All donations are requested by Wednesday, August 1!
