Cakes & Casseroles

This Sunday, March 18, the youth will offer Cakes and Casseroles in the Greeting Area! This is a fundraiser for the 2019 Pilgrimage to London and Iona! Casseroles and desserts will be available for parishioners to bid on and the final bids will be closed out following the 10:45 AM service. The youth will also offer sausage biscuits and donuts for a modestly marked up price in the Parish Hall on Sunday while folks are making palm crosses.

Please come out and help support our youth. Save yourself some kitchen labor as you stock up on delicious treats that can be frozen or enjoyed right away!!

Palm Cross Making

Everyone is invited to make palm crosses in the Parish Hall on Sunday, March 18 from 9:30 – 10:30 AM. This inter-generational activity will be our Christian Education class for the day, no other classes will meet.

Members of DOK will be available with instructions so that everyone, including those of us who have done this before, can learn/remember how to make them. Please bring a pair of scissors with you, and mark them so you’ll get the same pair back.

Younger children, who may have difficulty making palm crosses, will have an opportunity to join the youth in a project making place mats for Meals on Wheels. So there will be activities for all ages in the parish hall this Sunday. Please join us!

Parish Choir at the Cathedral

Our Parish Choir has been invited to sing at the Diocesan Confirmation service at the Cathedral of St. Philip on Sunday, March 18 at 4:00 PM. Due to their rehearsal time at the cathedral, Will and the choir will be gone that morning. We will welcome Dr. James Mellichamp, president and professor of music at Piedmont College, to the organ bench at the 10:45 AM service. There will be no organ at the 8:15 service.

Wednesday Service/Lunch

At noon each Wednesday in Lent, we gather with members of other churches in our community for worship and a light lunch. (Suggested donation is $5.) Community leaders will share reflections during the service. The last service for this year will be held at First Presbyterian on March 21.

Please note that our regular Wednesday Contemplative Eucharist will be held in the chapel at 12:10 PM on March 28.
