Lenten Sunday Forum
On Sunday mornings at 9:30 AM in the parish hall, we are exploring the nature of suffering and how our responses shape the way we live. On March 11 we’ll be led by Fr. Stuart as we consider spiritual suffering.
Mark your calendars and share: The Circle will meet again on 6:30 PM in the Chapel (Washington Street entrance) on March 11, March 25, and April 8. Join us as we explore contemplative practice in a group and have meaningful discussions on what it means to practice contemplative Christianity in the modern world. We will explore practices of prayer, silence, and an openness to God’s presence in our lives and prepare for the community Encounter gathering on April 15.
New DOK Prayer Practice Class
“The desire to pray is God’s gift to us. As we ponder the mystery of God, who talks to and listens to us, the believer realizes an inborn agility to take the leap of faith required to be in communion with God.”
from Prayer Changes Me
Prayer has many forms as unique to us as we are to our Creator. The Daughters of the King are sponsoring a monthly Prayer Practice. We will meet in the Grace Center Conference Room at 10:30 AM on the second Wednesday of each month beginning March 14. Our Sister in Christ, Elizabeth Mavis, will be leading us in this prayer practice. We welcome all women to come and learn with us.
“…Good is the Lord to one who waits for Him, to the soul who seeks Him.” Lamentations 3:22-25
At noon each Wednesday in Lent, we gather with members of other churches in our community for worship and a light lunch. (Suggested donation is $5.) Community leaders will share reflections during the service. The service will be held at First Methodist on March 14. full schedule of services
