Leave Your Prayers at the Cross

The cross that is used for flowering on Easter morning is being used to hold our Lenten burdens. Stop by the cross in the Greeting Area, write down a prayer or worry on a slip of paper provided, then roll it up and place it in the cross. Children may draw a picture, but need not write anything at all. The simple act of thinking a prayer and rolling up the paper is similar to lighting a candle in prayer.

On Easter morning the prayers will be taken out and replaced with flowers.

Lenten Sunday Forum on Suffering

“My God, my God! Why have you forsaken me?” Have you ever felt this way, or struggled to know how to be with someone who did? On Sunday mornings at 9:30 AM in the parish hall, we are exploring the nature of suffering and how our responses shape the way we live. On March 4 we’ll be led by Cheryl Kelley, certified grief recovery specialist, as we consider social and emotional suffering.

Wednesday Service/Lunch

At noon each Wednesday in Lent, we gather with members of other churches in our community for worship and a light lunch. (Suggested donation is $5.) Community leaders are sharing reflections during the services. The service will be held at St. Paul United Methodist on March 7. full schedule of services

Please note that there will be no 12:10 PM service in our chapel during Lent.

Following dinner, you are invited to the first of two sessions of our Final Affairs Fair. see article below

Final Affairs Fair

Join us on Wednesday evenings March 7 and 14 from 6:30-8:00 in the Parish Hall for presentations on practical matters related to dying. Hear from legal experts among our own parishioners about preparing advance directives regarding healthcare (ADRs) and from the clergy about funeral planning. We will have forms available and resources to work with individuals.

This is actually a life-affirming activity that is closely connected with living compassionately. Anyone who has ever faced the death of a loved one without having these matters in a final and accessible form can testify to the loving gesture of ensuring that your loved ones do not face a similar dilemma when you die.

Movie Night

Grace adults gather each month in the Youth Room to watch and discuss movies old and new addressing a wide variety of subjects. A very casual occasion, participants often bring a little food and drink to share. We always have a good time and lively discussion. Join us at 7:00 PM on Friday, March 9.

COG Spring Fling

Our COG preschool will hold their annual Spring Fling fundraiser on Friday, March 9 from 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM. Grace parishioners and the community can support the fundraiser by purchasing raffle tickets. Each ticket is $25 and worth 4 chances to win one of these fabulous prizes!
