February 11 is Sock Sunday

As we look toward Ash Wednesday and the beginning of the Season of Lent, this coming Sunday finds us reflecting on how God’s light surprises us and offers hope–even in the darkest of corners.  As a fun way to celebrate this Sunday, I invite you to wear your brightest and most colorful socks.  We can share our faith together, even with our feet!

Endowment at Grace

Last year a dedicated group of parishioners worked diligently to update and clarify the Policies and Guidelines governing the Endowment Fund of Grace Church. But, what is an endowment fund? How can it benefit our church? What are the policies governing endowed funds at Grace? Who can give to an endowment fund?

Join us from 9:30 – 10:30 AM in the parish hall on Sunday, February 11 for a discussion about the endowment fund of Grace Church that will answer these and other questions you might have. Come to learn about a wonderful resource to allow Grace to grow and thrive as we approach our third century as a parish.

Spring Foyer groups are now forming. If you are interested in joining, please sign up online or at the information station by Sunday, February 11.

Shrove Tuesday Pancake Supper

Our annual Shrove Tuesday Pancake Supper will be Tuesday, February 13 from 5:30 – 7:30 PM in the Parish Hall. Reservations are required by Friday, February 9.

The youth and the youth leaders will be cooking, serving, welcoming, and cleaning up afterwards. This event is one of the fundraisers to help support the youth pilgrimage in June 2019, so tips will be welcomed and much appreciated! The youth are presently considering one of two options: Iona and London or Taize and Paris. An announcement will be made at the Pancake Supper about which option they select!

Ash Wednesday Services

Ash Wednesday services will be held in the nave at 12:10 PM and 7:00 PM on Wednesday, February 14. The 4:15 PM service at Lanier Village Estates will also include the Imposition of Ashes.

Lenten Quiet Day

Have you ever wished to deepen your relationship with God? To experience a warm friendship with God? Maybe even fall in love with God – again – or for the very first time? If so, please join us for our Lenten Quiet Day. Take some time to reflect and ground yourself into Lent. Our time together will be “filled” with silence and with resources available for your use or just provide you time to reflect and deepen your relationship with God. The Quiet Day will take place in the Parish Hall from 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM on Saturday, February 17. Child care will not be available.

Friends of Music

We kicked off our Friends of Music fundraising campaign February 1. Please return your donation via mail or offering plate by the end of February.
