Advent Lessons and Carols

Join us December 17 at 6:00 PM for Advent Lessons and Carols! This beautiful service, an Anglican tradition, is meant to help us prepare for Christmas. Scripture lessons will be read and Advent carols will be sung by the choir and the congregation. This year, the choir will highlight works by Beibl, Bruckner, Goldschmidt, Ord, and Pilkington.

Please note that the service will include the use of incense. A nursery for children age 4 and under will be available.

I Will, With God’s Help

Our Sunday Forum series featuring conversation about Living Into our Baptismal Covenant will continue Sunday, December 17. Join us from 9:30 AM – 10:30 AM in the Parish Hall.

A Week of Space and Prayer

We will gather in the chapel each day December 18-22 for Morning Prayer at 8:30 AM, Noonday Prayer at 12:10 PM, and Evening Prayer at 4:30 PM.

We will have lunch each day at 12:30 in the Parish Hall, immediately following Noonday Prayer. If you plan on coming for lunch, please let Fr. Stuart know for a count.

In between, the nave, chapel and parish hall will be made available for folks seeking a space of silence, quiet conversation, prayer, or reflection. Perhaps you have reading or work to do. Perhaps you are finishing Christmas cards. Or you want to knit. Come and go as you please. No stress. No program. Nothing to prepare, other than our hearts.

Yoga for Advent

Join us in the parish hall for the last Yin Chair Yoga (2:45-3:30) or Yin Yoga on Your Mat (3:45-4:45) on Monday, December 18. We are slowing our practices down to honor the silence and stillness of the Advent Season, holding simple poses for long periods of time to help get good rich oxygenated blood to deep connective tissue. Our 2018 yoga classes will start back on Monday, January 22.

Wednesday Evenings

There will be no meal or program on December 20, 27, or January 3. Enjoy this time with friends and family. We’ll kick off our Wednesday evening meals and programs for 2018 on January 10. Watch for details!

Family Christmas Tree

A few years ago we began a tradition of decorating a Grace Family Christmas Tree. If you are new to Grace, or simply haven’t yet contributed an ornament, please bring one in and hang it on the tree in the parish hall. Make sure to include your name, and perhaps the year, somewhere on the ornament or on a ribbon attached to the ornament. At the end of the season, ornaments are stored at Grace to be put back on next year. Don’t miss this chance to leave a small Christmas legacy at Grace.

Grace Member Art Show

Applications to participate in the Member Art Show are being accepted until Tuesday, January 9. The show will open March 21 and run through May 6. If you are a member of Grace and an artist – including, but not limited to: painting, mixed media, photography, fabric, ceramics, glass, metal, sculpture, and woodwork – we encourage you to participate. We look forward to showcasing the artistic talents of our Grace family!
