Happy New Year: It’s Advent!
A new church liturgical year begins on December 3 with The First Sunday of Advent! Advent is also a time of spiritual preparation and anticipation. Learn more on our website about some of the events and activities being offered for the season. All are invited to participate fully!
Advent Wreath Making
On Sunday, December 3, parishioners of all ages are invited to come make Advent wreaths together from 9:30-10:30 AM in the Parish Hall. No need to sign up, supplies available on a first-come, first-served basis. One wreath per household please and a $5 donation would be welcome. Feel free to bring additional greenery from your garden, ribbon, pinecones, etc. from home to personalize your wreath or to share with others. You will also need to bring small pruning scissors. Yoga for Advent
As we move into Advent, come join us for Yin Chair Yoga (2:45-3:30 PM) or Yin Yoga on Your Mat (3:45-4:45 PM) on Mondays, December 4, 11, and 18, in the parish hall. We will be slowing our practices down to honor the silence and stillness of the Advent Season. We will hold simple poses for long periods of time to help get good rich oxygenated blood to deep connective tissue. Our long held poses will allow tissue to heat up and relax with a goal of increasing our range of motion. Our stillness will allow this. We will let go of our expectations and just be still with God.
Our 2018 yoga classes will start back on Monday, January 22. Come join us!
If you would like to make an offering for Christmas flowers, please fill out a Christmas Flowers form and return it to the office by Thursday, December 14. Contributions may be made in thanksgiving for or in memory of loved ones, friends and family. Acknowledgement will be published in the Christmas Eve worship bulletins.
There will be no Movie Night in December. Make plans to join us on Friday, January 12!
Member Art Show
Applications are being accepted through January 9 to participate in the Grace Member Art Show. The show will open March 21 and run through May 6. We look forward to showcasing the artistic talents of our Grace family!
