Daylight Saving Time
Daylight saving time ends at 2:00 AM on Sunday, November 5. Don’t forget to set your clocks back one hour before going to bed Saturday evening!
Christmas is always an enchanting time of joy and eager anticipation for children. Sadly, circumstances may prevent some children from realizing the happiness that accompanies the season. We have a wonderful opportunity to fulfill the dreams of these children.
Through our annual Christmas Angel Tree program, Grace Church, in partnership again this year with the Salvation Army, helps to fulfill the holiday hopes and dreams of some of these children. The Christmas Angels will be available at the Christmas tree located in the greeting area, beginning Sunday, November 5.
Each Angel will include a child’s name and the desired gift, either a toy or clothing. All gifts should be returned unwrapped, with the angel tag firmly attached, no later than Wednesday, November 29. The gifts can be left in the office during the week, or under the Christmas tree in the greeting area.
The generous Angel Tree participation by the congregation in past years has made Christmas wishes come true for so many children. We thank you for your 2017 participation as we welcome the holiday season spirit of giving.

Wednesday Program: November 8
What does being a community of prayer, compassion and belonging look like? Come hear one answer as parishioner Emilie Cook joins us this Wednesday night, November 8, at 6:30 PM to share photos and stories of her mission trip with “Refuge and Hope, International” to a refugee center in Uganda where she offered yoga and other self care practices as part of a retreat for caregivers at the center (many of whom were once refugees themselves) who process the refugees that stream constantly across the borders seeking safety.

ECF BBQ Challenge
The Episcopal Community Foundation for Middle and North Georgia is excited to host the first BBQ Competition in support of ECF here at Grace Church on November 10, during Annual Council. Teams will cook Boston butts to compete to earn a prize which will be awarded to their parish for outreach. The Right Reverend Robert Wright is one of the judges and he is looking forward to some tasty BBQ!
The event will begin at around 5:00 PM, after the Friday Annual Council activities have concluded, and attendees will have the opportunity to taste BBQ from around the Diocese! In addition to tastings, a BBQ buffet dinner will be provided by the Episcopal Holy Smokers in the parish hall with delicious food and great desserts! To round out the fun, we’ll also enjoy the music of Peachtree Station Bluegrass Band! To attend the event, there is a suggested donation to ECF of $10 (payable at the door).
No Yoga This Week
Our yoga groups will not meet on Monday, November 6. Join us in the parish hall for the next session on November 13. Chair yoga starts at 2:45 PM and flow yoga at 3:45 PM.
