News for August 6-12

Summer Sunday Forum

Imam Ali from the Gainesville Islamic and Cultural Center will return to Grace to talk about Islam and answer your questions. If you were able to attend World Peace Village back in June, you will remember that his presentation was interrupted by the tornado warning (which, strangely, lent itself to a unique environment in which to practice interfaith dialogue since we were all taking cover in a vesting room for an hour). Be sure to come meet with Iman Ali on August 6 from 9:30 – 10:30 AM, during the Sunday Forum hour.

New Men’s Group

Stuart invites all men interested in exploring a Men’s Group at Grace to a lunch in the parish hall on Sunday, August 6 at noon.

Yoga Continues in August

Our prayer yoga classes will continue through August! Please note that each class will begin 15 minutes earlier. Chair yoga will meet from 2:45 – 3:30 PM and flow yoga (bring your own mat) from 3:45 – 4:45. Join us Mondays, August 7, 14, 21 and 28.

Movie Night

Grace adults gather each month in the Youth Room to watch and discuss movies old and new addressing a wide variety of subjects. A very casual occasion, participants often bring a little food and drink to share. We always have a good time and lively discussion. Join us on Friday, August 11 at 7:00 PM.

COG News

Children of Grace Preschool is pleased to introduce Melanie Jabaley as our new Administrative Assistant. Melanie will support the Director and teachers of the preschool. She brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to her new role and will be an asset to the preschool. Thanks for joining us in welcoming Melanie to the COG staff.
