One Service and Parish Picnic
Don’t forget that there is just ONE 10:00 AM combined worship service this Sunday, May 21. Our parish picnic will follow, but due to the rainy weather forecast, it has been moved inside. It will still be a great opportunity to enjoy yummy food and fellowship so we hope you plan to attend.
Delicious chicken and beverages will be provided. Please bring a dish to share with ten people according to the following assignment based on the first letter of your last name. We rotate the categories every year and would greatly appreciate you bringing a dish for the category assigned so that we end up with a tasty variety of food with plenty for everyone. We have plenty of serving utensils, so there is no need to bring your own.
• A-H: dessert
• I-N: hot side (ex. mac and cheese, baked beans, scalloped potatoes, green beans)
• O-Z: cold side (ex. salad, fruit, veggie tray)
High School graduates will be recognized during our 10:00 AM combined worship service this Sunday, May 21. Congratulations to all our graduates! We wish you the very best in all of your future endeavors!
Children’s Chapel News

New Wednesday Contemplative Communion
For many years, Grace Church has offered a space for healing prayer and Holy Eucharist on Wednesdays at 12:10. For a while, it was a full place with a few ministry groups utilizing the opportunity as a time of prayer and centering during the week. Over the past three years, attendance and energy has drifted away, leading me to wonder if the Spirit is inviting us to hit the refresh button on this time of Holy Communion.
As part of our ongoing Sabbath Year, I want to share that on Wednesday, May 24, we will celebrate Holy Eucharist and then take a break until Wednesday, August 2. During this time of reflection, I will be gathering thoughts and ideas on what renewed worship we might share together. My hope is that this Wednesday space can be a more intentional time of contemplative prayer and silence. This is my “working plan” at the moment: to launch a new Wednesday Contemplative Communion with a time of reflection on the Gospel, shared prayers of the community, silence, and Holy Communion. I will weave in writings and insights from contemplative thinkers as we reflect on the Gospel together.
There is more to come, but know that this space is bubbling…
Our Wednesday morning prayer class, Resting In God, continues on May 24 at 11:00 AM. Come experience a time of restoration and renewal as we explore a variety of contemplative practices that can enrich our personal prayer lives.
The next rota is still being finalized and will be sent as soon as it is ready. Thank you for your patience.
The nursery is still in its temporary home in the conference room of The Grace Center.
