My Life in Fiber with Charles Gandy
The Artists’ Way Enthusiasts invite interested parishioners to join them for hors d’oeuvres and wine while viewing some magnificent knitted creations and a special presentation by Charles Gandy, My Life In Fiber. Hosted by Artist’s Way, this evening’s entertainment will be held on April 11 at 6:00 PM in the Parish Hall. Please RSVP to email@example.com or firstname.lastname@example.org.
Join the Bell Choir
Our bell choir could use 2-3 additional ringers. If you are interested in joining, or just learning more, please attend the next rehearsal on Tuesday, April 11 at 6:30. We’d love to have you join us! (The choir usually rehearses Thursday evenings but moved to Tuesday next week due to the Maundy Thursday service.)
At noon each Wednesday in Lent we have been gathering with members of other churches in our community for worship and a light lunch (suggested donation $5). On April 12 St. John Baptist will host, with Dr. Bill Coates (First Baptist on Green St.) preaching and music by the First Presbyterian Choir.
There will be no Wednesday night dinner or formation opportunity offered on April 12.
Will You Help Keep Watch?
It is an ancient custom of the Church to keep a watch before the Reserved Sacrament following the liturgy of Maundy Thursday. The watch recalls the time Jesus and his disciples spent in the Garden of Gethsemane after the Last Supper and before Jesus’ arrest. Parishioners are invited to sign up online or at the information table for a one hour shift between 9:00 PM Thursday evening, April 13, until the watch ends at the beginning of the proper Good Friday liturgy at noon on April 14.
SAGES: Lunch – Bistro at the Oaks
Parishioners signed up for the April 14 SAGES Lunch at Bistro at the Oaks can meet in the parking lot of The Grace Center at 10:30 AM to car pool or caravan, or meet at the restaurant at 2719 Tumbling Creek Road. Today (Thursday, April 6) is the deadline to sign up and there are a few spaces still available. If you would like to attend, bring payment of $12/person to the parish office by 5:00 PM.
