This blog post highlights some events and news just for the upcoming week. The primary source of information about what’s happening at Grace Church is our weekly newsletter – for full news and events please subscribe to the e-vangelist!
Through our annual Christmas Angel Tree program, Grace Church, in partnership again this year with the Salvation Army, helps to fulfill the holiday hopes and dreams of children in our community. Angel tags are still available on the tree located in the greeting area. Each tag includes a child’s name and the desired gift, either a toy or clothing. All gifts should be returned unwrapped with the tag firmly attached by Wednesday, November 30. Bring them to the parish office during the week, or leave them under the Christmas tree in the greeting area.
The generous Angel Tree participation by the parish in past years has made Christmas wishes come true for many children. We thank you for your 2016 participation as we welcome the holiday season spirit of giving.
Collier Cato, a member of Grace Church who is studying at McAfee School of Theology, will continue our conversation on reconciliation and racial dialogue at the Sunday Forum on November 13 at 9:30 AM.
Parent Youth Meeting with Easton Davis All parents and youth are encouraged to meet Easton Davis, diocesan missioner for Youth and Young Adults on Sunday, November 13 at 9:30 AM. He and other youth from across the Diocese will share their stories and talk about the role of healthy youth programs in contemporary culture. This conversation will have an impact on our own discussions about the future of the youth @ Grace and planning a way forward.
Youth Worship & Movie Night Join us for a special evening of music, community, and a movie on November 16 from 6:30-9:00 PM. After church dinner (RSVP if you want dinner), we’ll gather in the youth room for a special time getting ready for Advent. There will be singing, making things, and maybe a game or two. Then, we’ll have hot cocoa and popcorn as we watch a movie.
Creative Expression Movie Night
Join the Grace Church Creative Expressions Cluster as we gather for another Movie Night on Friday, November 18 in the youth room. (See what film is playing on the bulletin board at the information station.) We hope you will join us! Doors open at 6:30 PM. The movie begins at 7:00 PM. Please feel free to bring a friend and snacks and/or drinks of your choosing. Popcorn will be provided. See you there!
