GWAG starts back on Wednesday, August 17! This fall, the meal begins at 5:30 PM. The cost for the meal is $10 for adults, $5 for youth in 6th-12th grades, and free for kids up to 5th grade. If you make a reservation and do not attend, you will still be asked to pay for your meal. Thank you for understanding.

Interfaith Dialogue Study

Come ‘join the conversation’ about interfaith cooperation, where we explore how religion can be not a barrier, but a bridge. We will be using a five session video based series by interfaith commentator Eboo Patel as he explores what it means to be “literate” about other faiths, how interfaith cooperation “works” and why, and the skills needed for interfaith cooperation. Inspired by his faith as a Muslim, his Indian heritage and his American citizen ship, Eboo Patel speaks to his vision of interfaith harmony at places like the Clinton Global Initiative, The Nobel Peace Prize Forum, as well as college and universality campuses across the country. He is a regular contributor to the Washington Post, USA Today, and the Huffington Post.

Join us for five Wednesday evenings from 6:30 until 8:00 PM in the Parish Hall following the GWAG meal, beginning August 17.  We are exploring the need for childcare on Wednesday evenings and are offering it on a trial basis August 17, 24, 31 and September 7. If you need childcare, please make a reservation using the GWAG reservation system.

Chorister rehearsals begin Wednesday, August 17 at 5:00 PM and all 3rd-8th grade children are welcome to join! Choristers will sing in worship 1-2 times per month and will be using the RSCM (Royal School of Church Music) VOICE for LIFE curriculum, an acclaimed structured choral training guide that provides a framework for young choral singers to develop their vocal skills, musical understanding, and knowledge of the repertoire.

NOTE: Jr. Choristers (1st & 2nd grade) will begin rehearsals on September 14.

If you or someone you know is interested in singing in any of Grace Church’s choirs please contact Will Gotmer for more information.

What’s Happening?

In it you will also find information about some of the events and activities that are on the calendar until year-end and beyond. Please download, read, and keep this guide as a reference throughout the 2016-2017 academic year.

SAGES Ice Cream & Sangria Social

The acronym SAGES (Socially Active Grace Episcopal Seniors) represents any and all Grace Seniors (60 to forever) who are looking to be socially active in the company of other Grace seniors.

Come learn more at a SAGES Sangria and Ice Cream Social on Wednesday, August 24 at 3:00 PM in the Parish Hall. Sign up at the information station or call the parish office at 770-536-0126 no later than Friday, August 19 if you’d like to attend. Please also let the office know if you need transportation.

Come and enjoy ice cream and/or sangria. I know I am going to have a sangria float with two pieces of fruit on top.

Come hear results of survey. About 50% of our seniors responded. Come contribute your ideas as to how this group should move forward. We can make it just about anything we want, after all, we are seniors with privilege … sometimes.
