YAC on Pilgrimage

Some of our YAC youth are on pilgrimage in Wyoming this week. Please pray for them while they are away.

O God, our heavenly Father, whose glory fills the whole creation, and whose presence we find wherever we go: Preserve those who travel, particularly our pilgrims: Louisa, Sara, Delaney, Cameron, William, and their leaders Jeff, Janet, Jason, and Alan, as they seek a deeper understanding of God and community as they journey; surround them with your loving care; protect them from every danger; and bring them in safety to their journey’s end; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen. (Book of Common Prayer, “For Travelers”)

Summer Pick-up Choir This Sunday

All Grace Church adults and middle and high school youth are invited to join a summer pick-up choir this Sunday, July 10. No experience or previous choir participation is necessary. We will meet in the sanctuary at 10:00 AM to rehearse a simple anthem and look at the hymns and service music for the morning. The pick-up choir will not robe or process, we will come forward to present our offertory anthem and return to the pews. Our last pick-up choir date is July 24. Contact Will Gotmer for more information.

Return Your SAGES Survey!

If you are a senior age 65+, please don’t forget to return your SAGES (Socially Active Grace Episcopal Seniors) survey by Monday, July 11. Copies were mailed and the survey is also available online. This is your chance to let Grace know what activities and programs you are interested in and what specific needs you may have.

In addition, you are invited to an Ice Cream and Sangria Social in the Parish Hall to visit, meet, and talk on Wednesday, August 24 at 3:00 PM. Come be a part of this community where your thoughts and ideas can be realized.

St. Benedict Feast Day

The Grace Church Community of Hope and Centering Prayer groups would like to invite anyone to silent prayer and meditation on Monday, July 11; The Feast Day of St. Benedict; in the chapel at 5:00 PM.

Sister Joan Chittister writes, “The Rule of Benedict has been a guide to the spiritual life for common people since the sixth century. Benedictine spirituality offers exactly what our times are lacking. Benedictine spirituality seeks to fill up the emptiness and heal the brokenness in which most of us live in ways that are sensible, humane, whole, and accessible to an overworked, overstimulated, over scheduled human race.” Just as in the ancient class-centered Roman world; Benedictine spirituality still calls us to hospitality, equality and challenge to face our world today. It offers insight and wisdom in our faith.

Parish Choir Happy Hour

The parish choir will meet for Happy Hour at Downtown Drafts (on the square near the corner of Spring St and Bradford St) from 5:00 – 7:00 PM on Tuesdays, July 12 and 26.

All women are invited and you are encouraged to attend if you are considering becoming a Daughter. Our next discernment class will begin August 21.
