Good Friday

Posted by

Good Friday, a name that derives from “God’s Friday”, is the day we commemorate the crucifixion of our Lord. The Good Friday liturgy will be held at 12:00 PM.

Following the liturgy, at around 1:00 PM, parishioners are invited to walk the Stations of the Cross. This year, our entire community is invited to share in the Stations. The procession will begin at Grace and continue down Green Street, ending at First Baptist Church. Along the way, we will have fourteen pauses for readings and prayers along Green Street. Return transportation to Grace Episcopal Church will be provided.

Those unable to walk down Green Street are invited to stay in the nave at Grace and share in the Stations by using our parish Stations around the columns in the nave.

Almighty God, whose dear Son went not up to joy but first he suffered pain, and entered not into glory before he was crucified: Mercifully grant that we, walking in the way of the cross, may find it none other that the way of life and peace; through Jesus Christ your Son our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.
