We met today in the Conference Room to explore where and how you wanted to go forward meeting and wondering together. We considered several options including disbanding until next year, continuing with the Amy-Jill Levine series, and shifting to explore Jewish mysticism in the Kabbalah in preparation for Rabbi Mark Biller’s return to Grace Church Friday evening, May 6th, and Saturday, May 7th, for a program on Kabbalah and prayer.
Fr. Stuart joined us for the discussion and filled in his vision for Grace to focus on prayer in many kinds and traditions for the year ahead, kicking off with Rabbi Biller’s introduction to the mystic way of Kabbalah.
The members of the class present chose to explore the Kabbalah in April before Rabbi Biller’s arrival on May 6th. At our final class on May 1st we will share our imaginations of this class into the next season of adult classes to begin in September.
We will NOT meet for the next three Sundays, Palm Sunday, Easter, and April 3rd.
We will pick up on Sunday April 10th and continue to meet on April 17th, April 24th, and May 1st.
On March 10th NPR broadcast an episode of Krista Tippett’s On Being as she interviewed Rabbi Lawrence Kushner about “Kabbalah and the Inner Life of God”. You can listen to the interview and find further links for more on Kabbalah at http://www.onbeing.org/program/lawrence-kushner-kabbalah-and-the-inner-life-of-god/6309 .
I have asked Rabbi Biller for any introductory readings or online resources he might recommend for us to look at before he comes. When I hear back from him I will share his recommendations with you.

I look forward to exploring this tradition of prayer and the experience of God in Judaism and hope you will join us in the Conference Room between the services from April 10th through May 1st. If you have any questions or suggestions please contact me at email@example.com, or Ann Goble at firstname.lastname@example.org, or Stuart or Cynthia through the church office. JoAnn Manring will continue to coordinate food to share in our meetings after Easter, so If you happen to come into a bonanza of heaps of lobster some Saturday evening in April be sure to give JoAnn a call.
