Grace Family Christmas Tree
We have begun a new tradition of decorating a Grace Family Christmas Tree. If you did not get the chance to bring your ornament at our December 2 Candlelight Cafe, you are invited to bring it between services on Sunday, December 6. Attach a ribbon to the ornament with your family name and date. At the end of the season, ornaments will be packed up and stored at Grace to be put back on next year’s Grace Family Christmas Tree.
If you would like to make an offering for Christmas flowers, please fill out a Christmas Flowers form and return it to the office by Monday, December 14. Contributions may be made in thanksgiving for or in memory of loved ones, friends and family. Acknowledgement will be published in the two Christmas Eve bulletins.
2nd Artist’s Way Group Forming
You may have heard about The Artist’s Way class that formed last summer. The interest was so high, we have decided to start a second group. Join us as we explore Julia Cameron’s, The Artist’s Way; A spiritual path to higher creativity. Over the course of 12 weeks together we will discover and rediscover our creative selves. We will uncover our hidden dreams, excavate our “shadow selves,” recover those ideas we thought we had abandoned long ago. We will learn how to journal daily, map a course for our creative journey, have check-ins each week, make “creative U- turns,” and explore possibilities beyond our imaginings. Come play, exercise your mind, color outside the lines, give in to your curiosity, and see yourself with new unexplored eyes.
We’ll meet in the Grace Center conference room on Mondays from 6:00-8:00 PM, beginning January 11 and continuing through March 28. You’ll need a copy of the book, a journal, and a willingness to play! Class size is limited, email Ann Goble to register.
Tips for Actors (and those who want to be) Workshop
An acting workshop will be held at Grace Church on Saturdays from 10:00 AM to 12:15 PM, January 9 – February 13. Over the course of the six sessions we will discuss various aspects of acting. Bert Emma (Grace member and Theatre Group leader for the Cresswind Neighborhood Theatre) will be the workshop leader and will facilitate each session’s discussions/activities which will include reading/acting excerpts from a variety of plays. This workshop is a great introduction to acting or a refresher course if you have acted before – so it is open to new and experienced actors. The environment will be a nurturing one with support from all participants.
There is no charge for the workshop, however you will be responsible for purchasing The Complete TIPS – Ideas for Actors, by Jon Jory. (Publication Date: December 16, 2013 | ISBN-10: 1575258536 | Amazon link) The workshop is limited to 12 participants and spots will be offered on a first come-first served basis to interested Grace Church parishioners who sign up at this link. Come join us, explore the creative possibilities and God-given talents that you may have and also have fun doing so.
Our Candlelight Café on December 9 will feature some special versions of mulled wine, a traditional winter drink that dates as far back as the early Roman Empire and continues to be enjoyed today. This delicious drink, prepared by Ron Walker, will encourage quiet fellowship and conversation, perhaps finishing with some songs of the season.
Please make a reservation by noon on Monday, December 7 for the meal or for nursery care for kids age 4 and under. The cost for the meal is $10 for adults, $5 for youth in 6th-12th grades, and free for kids up to 5th grade. No shows will be expected to pay. Please note that there is no children’s program on December 9.

Our new Children’s Chapel format is a great success! Remember to bring kids into “big church” with you for the 10:45 AM service. Children age 3 – 7 are called to the front of the nave after the collect to exit with their leaders into the Chapel. The children rejoin their families at the presentation.
