Cakes & Casseroles

The youth will hold their annual Cakes & Casseroles fundraiser on Sunday, November 22, beginning after the 8:15 AM worship service. There will be a wide selection of delicious casseroles, cakes, brownies, and other delectable items available. Some items will be available for purchase. Others will be auctioned off to the highest bidder through a silent auction. There will also be individual size items to satisfy that immediate sweet tooth!

This season is full of travel, shopping, entertaining, and many other things that take up our precious time. This year, let the youth and their families take away a bit of that stress. As always, the youth and their families thank you for your continued love and support!

Advent Sunday Forum Begins

In both the Old and New Testaments, dreams were regarded as messages from God. Today we have lost this perspective and we often regard dreams as nonsense or mere fantasy. Nevertheless, dreams continue to speak to us in their unique symbolic language. In this four-week class, we will draw upon the ideas of Swiss psychologist C.G.Jung to study the meaning of dreams in the Bible and in our own lives.

Our first class on Sunday, November 22 will include an introduction to dreams, with special attention to Jacob’s dream of the ladder in Genesis 28:10-22. Susan Olson, Grace Church member and Jungian analyst, will facilitate our discussion. Suggested reading: Dreams: God’s Forgotten Language, by Episcopal priest and Jungian analyst John A. Sanford (available in the church library and at Please come ready to share your ideas, comments, and questions about dreams.

There will be no GWAG on Wednesday, November 25. Enjoy this time with friends and family. Watch for information about Candlelight Café, which will kick off on December 2. Make plans to join us for all three enjoyable evenings, including a fun evening of laughs and good feelings with The Paper Bag Christmas Pageant on December 16.

Community Thanksgiving Meal

Grace Church will partner with the Georgia Mountain Food Bank, the North Georgia Community Foundation, and other local churches to serve a free Thanksgiving Dinner at First Baptist Church from 11:00 AM—1:00 PM on Thanksgiving Day, November 26. Grace parishioners are being asked to volunteer as table hosts. Hosting a table requires no money, no food preparation, and no special skills other than kind, warm, compassionate table conversation with neighbors you may not yet have met. Please consider this opportunity for you alone or you and all your family to experience a Thanksgiving Day like no other. Contact Isabel if you would like to help.

Parish Office Closed

The parish office will be closed on Thursday, November 26 and remain closed as usual on Friday, November 27.
