Special Food Collection
THIS Sunday, November 8, a barrel will be in the greeting area for a single day food collection for the Georgia Mountain Food Bank. This collection will be used to prepare “Second Helping” boxes that will go home with the approximately 200 families we expect to serve at the inaugural Thanksgiving Feast at First Baptist Church on Thanksgiving Day.
Items needed include: peanut butter AND jelly, spaghetti AND sauce, rice, mac & cheese, cereal, syrup, baking mix, saltines, 100% juice, and canned goods such as green beans, carrots, chicken, tuna, fruits, hearty soups, and Chef Boyardee ravioli. Please bring non-perishable food donations to the church on Sunday, NOVEMBER 8! Thank you!

Great Wednesdays At Grace
Plan to be entertained at our #eatprayconnect GWAG on Wednesday, November 11! Following our GWAG dinner we will enjoy cookies and milk/hot cocoa while listening to bedtime stories with Fr. Stuart & Cynthia. As many of us remember, this was the prize won by Laura Rives at our January Bingo Night…the prize most everyone wanted to win! Laura decided it would be more fun to share her gift. So bring your blankets, pillows and favorite teddy bears and join us. See you “Sleepyheads” for a fun evening at Grace! Make a reservation by noon on Monday, November 9. GWAG menu, reservations and details
Grace adults gather monthly to watch and discuss movies addressing a wide variety of subjects. A very casual occasion, participants often bring a little food and drink to share, and the popcorn is always plentiful. Informal discussion before and after the movie often adds to both the enjoyment and understanding of the films viewed. Movie Night is a great opportunity to be with a congenial gathering of Grace folks and friends. Join us in the Youth Room of The Grace Center at 7:00 PM on Friday, November 13. All are invited!
Community Thanksgiving Banquet
Join with members of other area churches and celebrate Thanksgiving together at 6:00 PM on Sunday, November 15 in the Banquet Hall at First Baptist Church. $8/person, $25 max/family. This year’s speaker is our very own Rev. Dr. Cynthia Park.
Youth Pizza Night
All youth in grades 6-12 are invited to have pizza and hang out together during GWAG on November 18. We’ll gather beginning at 5:15 PM and stay until 9:00 PM (or when adult choir ends, whichever comes first) but come and go as you must if you need to be at pageant or chorister rehearsal. Email Alan or RSVP here if you plan to attend so we will have enough pizza.
Through our annual Christmas Angel Tree program, Grace Church, in partnership again this year with the Salvation Army, helps to fulfill the holiday hopes and dreams of children in our community. Angel tags will be available at the Christmas tree located in the greeting area beginning this Sunday, November 8. All gifts should be returned unwrapped with the angel tag firmly attached by Wednesday, November 25. Bring them to the parish office during the week, or leave them under the Christmas tree in the greeting area. We thank you for your 2015 participation as we welcome the holiday season spirit of giving.
