It’s not too late to join the New Member Class!
The Living the Life of Faith class is an excellent opportunity for those new to Grace, and to the Episcopal church, to learn about the various ministries and spiritual life of our parish. This class will look at your life at Grace as a way of seeing, hearing, teaching and following. You will have the opportunity to discover your spiritual gifts and where they best fit at Grace. The class meets in the Conference Room (Parlor on October 25) on Sunday mornings from 9:30—10:30 AM until October 25.
The 12:10 PM service on Wednesday, September 30 will be Noonday Prayer. There will be no Eucharist.
GWAG September 30: #eatpraylearn
Please join us September 30 for a special program featuring Dr. Catherine Meeks, Chair of the Beloved Community: Commission for Dismantling Racism in the Episcopal Diocese of Atlanta. Dr. Meeks’s career is varied and impressive, including an award-winning 34-year academic career and involvement in an exceptional range of community activities. Her talk will explore some of the exciting efforts in our diocese as well as some of the future plans for the Commission. She says both triumphs and challenges will be highlighted and the great reason for hope that we have about the capacity of our fellow Episcopalians to “count it as joy” to walk on this pilgrimage toward the Beloved Community. There will be ample time during the presentation for discussion and questions, and all are invited to this important offering.
Make a meal reservation no later than 12:00 PM on Monday. GWAG details
Three ministers walk into a bar . . . seriously! It’s time for another installment of an ongoing series at Monkey Barrel in Gainesville. The crowd gets to ask any question they want. Anything! You never know what will come up or how things will go. Join us as Father Alan joins ministers from First Baptist and First United Methodist in throwing ourselves to the wolves! We are hoping that in the middle of all this fun we can model some of the forms of dialogue that have come out of the panel discussion we hosted at Grace a few weeks ago. Come to Monkey Barrel on October 1 at 8:00 PM – and Ask Anything!
Day of Self Expression
Our first Creative Expression program will be the Day of Self Expression on October 3, from 10:00 AM until 3:00 PM in the Parish Hall. On this day, we are providing space to bring together Grace members who have talents to share, those who are seeking new or first-time creative ideas, or those who would like to work on their own personal creative projects in a space surrounded by family and friends. This event is an open house—come when you can and leave when you must. Activities planned include basket weaving, painting, chalk art, musical presentations, labyrinth walk, and storytelling.
