GWAG September 9: #eatprayconnect
On the second Wednesday every month, our GWAG program will feature an opportunity for all ages to gather for activities designed to reinforce our connection to one another. Our first #eatprayconnect activity of the new academic year will be painting pottery bowls for the Georgia Mountain Food Bank’s Empty Bowl Lunch. Grace Church is glad to once again help support this annual fundraiser. Mark your calendars and make plans to Eat, Pray and Connect at 5:15 PM on Wednesday, September 9. GWAG details
Join the Choristers
The choristers will begin rehearsals for the current academic year on Wednesday, September 9 at 5:00 PM. Junior Choristers (grades 2 & 3 and first year singers) rehearse until 5:45 and Senior Choristers (grades 4 and up) rehearse until 6:00 PM. The Chorister program is affiliated with The Royal School of Church Music and participants will receive a fine music education while developing a sense of giving back to the church, discovering the value of teamwork and having fun together. If your child is interested in singing, he/she is welcome. Come join us!
Grace adults gather each month in the Youth Room to watch and discuss movies old and new addressing a wide variety of subjects. A very casual occasion, participants often bring a little food and drink to share. We always have a good time and lively discussion—join us at 7:00 PM on Friday, September 11.
Calling All Acolytes
If you are an acolyte or are interested in becoming an acolyte, please join us on September 12 for a training session. It is important that we have as many acolytes at the training as possible, so please mark this date on your calendar. We will meet in the nave beginning at 4:00 PM. We’ll even provide dinner afterwards! Father Stuart and Father Alan have graciously set aside time to oversee the training so that we can all be on the same page about the various roles and duties given to acolytes. They’ll be there to instruct, answer questions, and help all of us be more mindful about the worship service. If you have any questions, please contact Jason Voyles. We look forward to seeing everyone there!
