On Saturday, October 3 from 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM, Grace will hold its first Day of Self Expression (“DOSE”)! This event will take place the same weekend when we celebrate the life and witness of Francis of Assisi, which will include our annual Blessing of the Animals – a beloved event for the entire community. (This year, the “Blessing of the Animals” will take place in the COG parking lot on Sunday, October 4 at 4:00 PM.)
As a kick-off to “DOSE” planning, we need assistance in the following three areas:
- First, we are inviting individuals who might be willing to serve as interest artisans, helping folks try their hands at activities such as Origami, Japanese Floral Arranging, Charcoal Sketching, Needlework, Storytelling, or some other creative skill.
- Second, we are hoping to fill the day with music from various musicians who can offer a musical backdrop to help inspire those persons gathered to create. If you are able to provide soft background live music, such as flute, harp, keyboard, or acoustic guitar for a period of time during “DOSE”, please let us know.
- Equally important, is our need for individuals willing to assist with the planning and hosting. We will need: assistance in coordinating food and refreshments during the day; help with minor set-up and breakdown; and, hosts willing to assist participants in finding their own spaces to work and imagine.
Interested planners, hosts, artisans, and musicians can contact Laura Rives.
