Rite 13 Ceremony
Our 7th and 8th grade youth will celebrate their Rite 13 Ceremony during the 10:45 AM service this Sunday, May 10. This liturgy is an important rite of passage for these young people and reminds us all to take seriously our responsibility to  “guide, guard and sustain them as they grow into the full stature of Christ.”

Children of Grace
Our preschool will wrap up a wonderful 2014-2015 school year with graduation on Tuesday, May 12 and their annual Ice Cream Social on Friday, May 15. Congratulations to the Children of Grace PreK class of 2015! Best of luck to these students as they move on to Kindergarten this fall!

Spelling Bee
2015 marks the 24th anniversary of the Gainesville/Hall County Alliance for Literacy Spelling Bee and Grace Church will once again participate. This year’s team consists of Rob Harris, Leanne Edwards, Emilie Gille, and Nancy Richardson (alternate). The “bee” is like no other. It is a fast-paced event, with local teams, exciting skits and jokes, audience participation, door prizes, as well as some serious competition among teams. Come on out to Brenau University’s Pearce Auditorium to have a good time and help support a good cause on Tuesday, May 12, at 7:00 PM. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for children.

DOK May Meeting
Both Daughters of the King groups will meet together on Wednesday, May 13 at 10:30 AM in the Grace Conference room.  Dr. Cynthia Park will be our presenter as we continue our discussion on being mindful of who we are as women of faith. All women of Grace are welcome so come and bring a friend.

Anniversary of Our Bell Dedication
The four bells in our steeple tower, named Matthew, Mark, Luke and John, and donated to Grace Church by Bob and Linda Fowler, were dedicated following worship on Pentecost Sunday, May 15, 2005. We will celebrate the 10th anniversary of that special occasion with a celebratory peal of the bells following the combined 10:00 AM service on Sunday, May 17. You can learn more about The Bells of Grace Church and their history at our website.

Youth Curriculum Mapping Meeting
There will be a Journey to Adulthood curriculum mapping meeting on Saturday, May 16 from 10:00 AM—2:00 PM in the parish hall. All leaders and parents of current and upcoming 6-12th graders are encouraged to attend. This will be the meeting where we will actually map out lessons in our curriculum. A lot of work has gone into getting us to this point. Areas where the current curriculum is in need of improvement have been highlighted, as well as those areas that are working well as is. On May 16 we will fill in the gaps that will shape what our children will be learning as they take this amazing journey to adulthood. This is your opportunity to make sure we get it right, have your voice heard, and help put in place a truly meaningful curriculum. Lunch and snacks will be provided. Please come to help – it will be easy and fun!
