190_eastercrossThe Sunday of the Resurrection :: Halleluiah, He is Risen!
The Great Vigil of Easter at 6:00 AM on April 20 will begin with a new fire being kindled. Its flames are then used to light a new Paschal Candle, representing the light of Christ gloriously risen from the dead. The Resurrection is proclaimed and the first Eucharist of Easter begins. To participate in this service is to experience the climax of the liturgical year, for it’s at the Great Vigil each year that we reenact the Christian Passover from darkness and death to light and life.

A Festival Holy Eucharist will be held at 9:00 AM and again at 11:00 AM. The 9:00 AM service will include a baptism and both services will feature very special music and be a joyful celebration of the Resurrection!

A continental breakfast will be served at 7:30 and at 10:15. Come end your Lenten fast.

Children 5th grade and younger are invited to bring their Easter baskets and meet on the front steps of the church for an egg hunt that will begin at about 10:30 AM.

No Children’s Chapel Easter morning. A nursery will be available from 8:45 AM-12:15 PM for children age 4 and under. Children PreK – 5th grade are invited to enjoy breakfast and the egg hunt and to attend one of the services at 9:00 or 11:00 AM.

Parish Office Closed
The parish office will be closed on Monday, April 21 and Tuesday, April 22.

Graduate Recognition
Grace Church will soon publish our annual Graduate Recognition bulletin honoring graduates from high school, college, and graduate school. Graduates will also be recognized at the Parish Picnic on Sunday, May 18. Please note that there will be just one 10:00 AM combined service that day, followed by the Parish Picnic! If you will graduate (or have a child graduating) this spring, please fill out a graduate recognition form and return it to the parish office, along with a wallet size photo. Forms are located on the information table, in the parish office, and online. The deadline to submit information for the bulletin is Thursday, May 8. High School graduates submitting information after the deadline will still be recognized on May 18 but will not appear in the printed bulletin.
